Details by District:

District 23: Central Okanagan
School District 23 in Kelowna, BC is currently testing a hybrid school bus in its fleet operations.

District 28: Quesnel
Quesnel took delivery of their hybrid school bus at the end of October 2008. Unfortunately, the bus has not been used due to a transmission issue that is unrelated to the hybrid drive.

District 33: Chilliwack
Chilliwack's bus had battery trouble starting Dec 11, 2008, requiring new batteries. As of March 24, 2009 they are still waiting for the replacements.

District 34: Abbotsford
District 34 got involved in this project at the request of the Ministry of Education and thought it would be a means of reducing their impact on the environment while saving on fuel costs.

They have moved their Hybrid to three different routes so they could compare its performance to a normal school bus. So far they haven't seen that much difference regardless of the route the hybrid is on. Their hybrids fuel usage is an average of 4.3 kilometers per litre (23.3 litres/100km).

District 73: Kamloops/Thompson
District 73 has promised to provide data in the last half of March 2009 - please check back!
